- Preparation: Depending on the area that will require an X-ray, you may be asked to change into a hospital gown and to remove any metal jewelry or objects that might interfere with the X-ray images.
- Positioning: The radiologist will assist you in properly positioning your body for the X-ray in order to capture the required images from different angles.
- Image Capture: From there, you will be asked to remain still and hold your breath while images are taken. The entire process is quick and painless.
- Review of images: The radiologist will review the images to ensure they are high quality and take additional images as needed.
- Results: The X-ray results are interpreted by a radiologist and a report of their findings is generated. The results will be sent to your provider, who will discuss next steps and any necessary follow up.
